In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, there will be no CABS service, including the Med Center Express and Overnight On-Demand, Saturday, May 25 - Monday, May 27. On Tuesday, May 28, the Overnight On-Demand resumes at 12:30 a.m. and the Med Center Express resumes at 5 a.m.
The Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium wil host the OHSAA Track and Field State Tournament Friday, May 31, through Saturday, June 1. The parking system will remain in normal operation throughout the event. Permit holders may park only in areas in which their permit is normally valid.
Motorists should plan ahead for delays and expect heavier than normal vehicular and pedestrian traffic and less available parking in the area.
During spring commencement on Sunday, May 5, motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and follow the directions of traffic control officers in this area.

The Campus Area Bus Service (CABS) summer service begins on Wednesday, May 1. Most CABS routes will run reduced bus service Monday - Friday, with no service overnight, on the weekends and on university holidays. The Med Center Express and Overnight On-Demand service at the Wexner Medical Center will continue to run its normal schedule during this time. The North Express and the Overnight and Weekend routes will not run during the summer.
The Ohio State University is asking qualified planners to step forward to help create a new phase of parking and transportation infrastructure for the future.
According to a request for qualifications filed with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, Ohio State wants to build upon the high-level parking and transit plans drafted up in the original Framework 2.0 master plan in early 2017.
WOSU recently sat down with Beth Snoke, Ohio State's director of Transportation and Traffic Management, to discuss an RFP for shared mobility devices. The news outlet reported that Ohio State is seeking bids from companies that rent shared mobility devices like bikes and scooters. The RFP, or request for proposals, lays out what Ohio State expects of the vendors hoping to do business on campus.
The Columbus Dispatch recently wrote about new sustainable transportation investments throughout Ohio as a result of a national settlement against Volkswagen.
The news outlet said, Ohio’s share of the settlement is $75.3 million. Ohio State will retire six 2002 diesel buses and replace them with CNG buses that will arrive in July. Settlement funds will pay for half of the roughly $3 million cost.
“We’re committed to compressed natural gas,” said Beth Snoke, Ohio State's director of Transportation and Traffic Management. “It’s a resource that we have readily available.”
Students will be moving out of residence halls the week of April 29. The spring 2019 move out campus-wide event date is Tues. April 30, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Parking lots, garages, loading zones and roadways will be busier than normal during this time. If you plan to be on campus, it is recommended that you do not move your vehicle during the day if you do not have to. Traffic delays are anticipated. The Capital City Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, April 27, from approximately 8 a.m. to noon. Several streets, including portions of Lane Avenue, High Street, Olentangy River Road and Neil Avenue, will be closed at various times.
