Multiple construction projects will impact vehicles and pedestrians in and around the Wexner Medical Center. On Tues., Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. – noon, electrical work along Cannon Drive will result in traffic signal outages at the intersections of 12th Ave. and Cannon Dr. as well as Herrick Dr. and Cannon Dr. Traffic officials will be on-site during this time to assist with traffic flows. The daily 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. closure of the northern westbound lane of King Avenue, between Cannon Drive and the SR-315 overpass, originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 31, has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, November 6.This lane closure will facilitate work associated with the installation of a retaining wall for the Cannon Drive relocation project and will be in place for approximately one month. Traffic delays are anticipated during these times.
The nightly closure of the northbound SR-315 Medical Center Drive / King Avenue off-ramp, previously scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 19, has been rescheduled to begin on Sunday, September 24. The off-ramp will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. for approximately one month.
The closure will facilitate the distribution of dirt between the SR-315 on and off ramps, which is needed to begin the construction of the new Cannon Drive roadway. Emergency vehicle access from 315 will be maintained via a traffic control officer.
Beginning Tuesday (9/5), Cannon Drive will close for construction between Medical Center Drive and 12th Avenue. Access to SR315 will be maintained. The Polo and Dodd surface parking lots will close Monday evening (9/4). The project will straighten and elevate Cannon Drive to provide future flood protection and open up 12 acres of developable land. A new centrally-located Herrick Drive Transit Hub opens Tuesday (9/5) allowing enhanced MC Express service frequencies. Most CABS routes will service the transit hub rather than individual Medical Center stops.
CABS has made updates to its previously announced 2017-2018 routes and service times. To be responsive to customer needs, the North Express bus route will service the west campus Carmack Lot 5 lot during the academic year. North Express will not service the Buckeye Lots.
Beginning Tuesday (8/1), the Campus Loop North and Campus Loop South will service the Buckeye Lots while the Med Center Express shifts from the Buckeye Lots to the Carmack Lots. Most CABS routes will service the new Herrick Drive Transit Hub when it opens (9/5).
