Transportation and Traffic Management's (TTM) Service Building Annex renovation project wrapped up in March 2021. Although not often seen, the building – located along Kenny Road – is critical to transportation and vehicle maintenance on campus. The project upgraded an existing building and is now home to centralized vehicle and equipment maintenance, storage and offices, and Facilities Operations and Development’s Refuse and Recycling.
“We are thrilled with our new space and the efficiencies we’ve gained by combining forces with vehicle repair services in one, centralized location,” said Beth Snoke, director of Transportation and Traffic Management.
The building originally was used as a temporary veterinary clinic until the 1970s and then later converted to a bus maintenance and storage facility. It consists of three pre-engineered steel buildings and several different building use groups, so the code compliance for egress and safety was a big consideration during design.
This $8.8M project, managed by Facilities Operations and Development's Project Manager Al Stazzone, consists of 58,566 square feet, including spaces for multiple garage and maintenance bays, an automatic drive-in vehicle wash rack, tool room, stock room, staff break room, lockers, restrooms and offices.
