Transportation and Traffic Management provides The Ohio State University with excellent transit-related services.
Renovated Facility
The Transportation and Traffic Management facility, located along Kenny Road, was renovated in 2021. Building features include spaces for multiple garage and maintenance bays, an automatic drive-in vehicle wash rack, tool room, stock room, staff break room, lockers, restrooms and offices.

Student Bus Driver
As a Student Bus Driver, you will join more than 150 knowledgeable and professional student and full-time drivers who provide safe, reliable and friendly transportation, servicing 5 million rides per year.
Paid Training
- Student Bus Drivers receive high-quality paid, in-class and on-the-road training. At the end of the training program, trainees will have the skills necessary to pass the State of Ohio, Class B - Commercial Driver License (CDL) test.
Competitive Wages
- Earn up to $16/hour.
- Student Bus Driver pay starts at $14.00/hour while in the training program. Additional hours are available during the evenings working on the Service Crew, assisting in cleaning and fueling the fleet. Once a Student Bus Driver obtains a Class B CDL, the rate of pay increases to $16.00/hour.
- Non-CDL positions are also available for individuals who are interested in driving smaller vehicles.
- A variety of advancement opportunities are available including Student Operations Supervisor and Student Trainer.
Flexible Scheduling
- Campus Area Bus Service operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, allowing for flexibility when scheduling work shifts. Student shifts vary in length and time of day and are designed to work around the most common class schedules. Weekend and overnight shifts also are available. TTM would like student employees to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Student Service Crew Member
As a member of the Student Service Crew, you will help ensure that CABS buses are ready to roll the next morning. Service Crew is responsible for basic maintenance, such as checking and adding fluids, fueling, changing lights and general cleaning.
Competitive Wages
- Starting pay at $14/hour.
- A variety of advancement opportunities are available including Student Operations Supervisor.
Flexible Scheduling
- Service crew works Sunday through Friday in the evening. We would like student employees to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Full-Time Bus Driver (Non-Student)
As a Full-Time Bus Driver, you will join more than 150 knowledgeable and professional student and full-time drivers who provide safe, reliable and friendly transportation, servicing five-million rides per year.
Competitive Wages
- Starting pay at $17.10/hour.
- Includes Ohio State’s comprehensive benefits package, including health and retirement, as well as tuition assistance for you and your dependents.
Scheduling
- 40-hour / week, Monday - Friday
- Campus Area Bus Service operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, allowing for flexibility when scheduling shifts. Full-time drivers bid on shifts by seniority several times per year.
Driver Requirements
- Class B CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.
- Must pass a background check and physical exam.
Full-Time Bus Driver Trainee (Non-Student)
As a Full-Time Bus Driver Trainee, you will train with a bus supervisor and experienced drivers to obtain your class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements.

- Starting pay at $15/hour.

- 40-hour / week, Monday - Friday

Part-Time Bus Driver (Non-Student)
