10/15 - CABS, Traffic Impacts for Columbus Marathon

The Columbus Marathon will take place on Sunday (10/15) from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Several campus streets, including sections of Neil Ave., 12th Ave., College Rd., Annie and John Glenn Ave., Cannon Dr., Woody Hayes Dr., Carmack Rd. and High St. will be closed.  On Sunday, the Med Center Express and On-Demand service will not operate from 12:30 a.m.  – 1p.m.  The Overnight & Weekend route as well as paratransit will be suspended from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Buckeye Village will not start until 1 p.m.  Motorists should anticipate traffic delays in these areas during the event. Staff working in the Wexner Medical Center should use the same parking and transportation plan that is used on football Saturdays, as noted below.

  • Third-Shift Staff Parking on Saturday Evening (10/14)
    • Third-shift staff with West Campus permits arriving after 6 p.m. on Saturday (10/14) should park in the 12th Avenue Garage.
    • An entry ticket should be pulled to enter the garage. No-cost exit will be available beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday (10/15).
    • Staff holding permits with garage access may continue to park in any available staff garage.
  • First-Shift Staff Parking on Sunday Morning (10/15)
    • Staff arriving after 5 a.m. on Sunday (10/15) should park in the 9th Avenue West Garage.
    • Staff holding permits with garage access may continue to park in any available staff garage.

Regular parking and transportation operations, including the Med Center Express, resume at 1 p.m. on Sunday (10/15). Second and third-shift staff should park as they do normally on Sundays.
