The Campus Area Bus Service recently installed security cameras on its buses and paratransit vehicles to enhance safety through technology. The hi-visibility upgrade is an industry best practice. The Homecoming Parade will take place on Fri. (10/6). Sections of Woody Hayes Dr., Woodruff Ave., College Rd., Cannon Dr., 12th Ave., Annie and John Glenn Ave., 18th Ave. and 19th Ave. will be closed 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Road closure details are listed below. All CABS routes, except the Med Center Express, Martha Morehouse and Ackerman routes, will be suspended during this time. Traffic delays are anticipated.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk event will take place on Sunday, October 1. From 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., Cannon Drive, between Herrick Drive and Woody Hayes Drive, will be closed completely. Rolling closures will occur along sections of Woody Hayes Drive, / Woodruff Avenue, College Road, Neil Avenue and 17th Avenue. CABS service, except the Med Center Express, will be suspended. Motorists should anticipate traffic delays in these areas during this time.
The Ohio State University Police Division and several of its partners will be holding their inaugural Pedal With Police event on Thursday, September 21 from 6-8 p.m. outside the RPAC at the McCorkle Pavilion. The event is steered toward educating the campus community on bike safety and theft prevention. The event will allow participants to exchange their cable locks for free U-locks, while supplies last. A limited number of helmets, bike lights and water bottles will also be given away. Attendees can bring their bikes and receive a free tune-up from the OSU Bike Club. The nightly closure of the northbound SR-315 Medical Center Drive / King Avenue off-ramp, previously scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 19, has been rescheduled to begin on Sunday, September 24. The off-ramp will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. for approximately one month.
The closure will facilitate the distribution of dirt between the SR-315 on and off ramps, which is needed to begin the construction of the new Cannon Drive roadway. Emergency vehicle access from 315 will be maintained via a traffic control officer.
During home football Saturdays, the Med Center Express and On-Demand service will not operate from 12:30 a.m. on Saturdays through 12:30 a.m. on Sundays. All other CABS routes (Overnight & Weekend, Buckeye Village and paratransit) are suspended six hours prior to kickoff until two hours after the end of the game.
The On-Demand service will be available starting at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Med Center Express will resume normal operations at 5 a.m. on Sunday.

Beginning Tuesday (9/5), Cannon Drive will close for construction between Medical Center Drive and 12th Avenue. Access to SR315 will be maintained. The Polo and Dodd surface parking lots will close Monday evening (9/4). The project will straighten and elevate Cannon Drive to provide future flood protection and open up 12 acres of developable land. A new centrally-located Herrick Drive Transit Hub opens Tuesday (9/5) allowing enhanced MC Express service frequencies. Most CABS routes will service the transit hub rather than individual Medical Center stops.
